Function reimagined - where quiet European restraint meets bold architectural moves.
The Story
Project No. 8281 was an investment property in Scottsdale, Arizona, reimagined from the inside out. What began as a standard floor plan was carefully transformed to unlock functionality, flow, and aesthetic resonance. Maeve Design Collective executed full architectural interior design and project management, bringing balance between bold materials and quiet, tonal beauty.
This home’s original footprint lacked clarity and efficiency. The kitchen — the heart of the home — felt constrained, with little connection to surrounding spaces. Our first step was reworking the floor plan: opening sightlines, expanding the kitchen, and introducing a concealed pantry that elevated both function and aesthetic.
Materiality became the poetic thread. In the kitchen, soft taupe cabinetry grounds the space, while a statement marble backsplash extends upward, becoming both art and anchor. Every surface was considered for how it would age, reflect light, and invite use.
The powder room offered a moment of drama. Walls were wrapped in moody plaster, setting the stage for a sculptural marble vanity that reads as both utilitarian and romantic. This space, though small, carries the spirit of the entire home — bold yet restrained, practical yet emotional.
Our design lens throughout the project was to merge investment sensibility with timelessness. By layering European-inspired restraint over Scottsdale modernity, the home not only increased in function and value, but also in identity. It became a property that resonates with story, not just square footage.
